Blind Walk. Photographs by Florian Bong-kil Grosse
by fosco lucarelli
The photographer visually documented the movements of a blind person being given directions from a distance.
The awkard, hesitant gestures contrast with the geometrical sharpness and dryness of the urban environment, recalling a funambulist suspended several meters over the ground.
Our translation from Deutsch:
“A person can not see anything and moves following my instructions. I observe and document his loss of control, while I steer from a distance. His coordination and movements remain cautious and awkward at the same time, like a machine. The difference between me and the other person grow to the extent that I can clearly perceive myself as a stationary object.”
