Shintaro Kago is a Japanese guro manga artist.

His stories depict situations at the edge of absurdity; many of his manga are satirical and grotesque, dealing with subjects as extreme sex, scatology and body modification.

Abstraction is a 16-boards, slightly NSFW story, with frequent fourth-wall smashing and surreal deconstruction of the comic’s linearity. In this sense, many describe this author as a Japanese Scott McCloud. As non-specialist, we particularly enjoy the recomposition of the bidimensional layout of a standard page into three-dimensional volumes.
