Corinne Mercadier is a photographer and painter living and working in Paris. She used a Polaroid SX70 camera until 2008, when the industrial production of the film came to an end. She uses digital cameras since.
The following is her 2011-12 series “Solo“, a mise en scene of surreal characters dancing by either moving or standing still, who handle out-of-context objects like pneumatics, balls, lines or poles. Enigmatic people act under a dark black sky and on a desert background.
“The objects, (…) define spaces that suggest some game with mysterious rules.”
