Architectural Association’s Diploma 9, “the Unbuilt” is a “conceptual laboratory” defined as “the world in which students invent, manufacture and design their identities alongside their architectures“. Each student maintains a sort of personal blog where he develops and show his research around his own references, his interpretations and inventions. We stumbled upon these interesting views from above of squared spaces and imaginary towers by Oliver Pershav, one of the Diploma 9 students. The drawings somehow synthetize his questioning around architecture and its clichés and become a sort of condensed architectural world.
Together with the drawings, we discovered Pershav’s blog and we really enjoyed his way of composing a sort of archive of himself with images and words giving shape to a forming cosmology. The exploration is conducted through many different media, from wood to 3d digital models, to ink drawings and writings; all engaging a passionate questioning of various aspects of the discipline and beyond.
