Gioberto Noro is the collective name of Turin-based photographers duo, Sergio Gioberto and Marilena Noro. The images they produce are mostly stills of empty architectures, filled with an uncanny light coming from an exterior light source. Suspended between reality and fiction, the pictures appear like fragments of mysterious concrete constructions, where the openings are doors to a different world. Sometimes, fragments of the same concrete walls are shown in contact with a natural landscape, rocky and covered in vegetation, in a deep contrast with the bare construction.
Two of their images are currently included in the very recommended Proportio exhibition at the Palazzo Fortuny in Venice.
