Brion Nuda Rosch is a multimedia American artist and curator currently living in San Francisco. His collages superimpose small pieces of paper of a single color with found photographs of landscapes, mostly rocky and deserted areas. The very simple gesture creates a stark contrast in the picture: the sheet of paper mimics the presence of an alien presence in the landscape, a minimalist sculpture or a Space Odissey’s-like monolith from outer space. Sometimes it is a photograph of another landscape which is cut-out and superimposed to the first one producing an uncanny result, a slightly incoherent setting.
