Two litographs from mid 19th century Russia.
Thanks to Lydia Karagiannaki, we are now able to know the translation from the (Greek) texts: The excerpts from the New Testament, (Matthew) say: “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” The part of destruction is at the lithograph of hell and the part of life is at the lithograph of heaven. In the bottom center it says “World” (“Cosmos“), in the central part it is written “Here is the left (…) and the right“. And then there are scattered words indeed in Russian.
