John William Ludowici (1896 – 1983), inventor and engineer, invented the Ball House in the 1950’s.
The house was intended for emergency situation, a prefabricated construction which had to be easily transportable by truck, ships or helicopter and be able to float.
Yet it never gained a mass production status.
One exemplary was restored in 2002 and it’s visitable in the Ludowici factory.
