Keisuke Yamamoto (1961, -) is a Japanese print artist who worked on a series of interesting lithographies called “Light, Time, Silence”, which include just a few subjects: chairs, stairs and windows.
The iteration of the three elements located in different places and under everchanging light, produces an incredibly rich sequence of black and white scenarios. The idea of “time”, to which the title refers, is described by means of the gradation of light, depicted in its slow course from the brightness of the source to the darkness of the surroundings. The meticulously textured interiors add a sense of lightness to the otherwise austere images and provides a further layer of meaning.
