Laurent Millet is a French artist, whose work we already wrote about, who combines sculpture and drawing with the medium of photography. His 2014 series “Somnium” revolves around the artist’s work with translucent sculptures composed by several geometrical shapes juxtaposed. The imaginary behind the pictures merges a scientific experiment with kids constructions in the shape of simple forms with a mysterious aftertaste. The artist appears like a fascinating figure between a magician and a scientist as his sculptures seem to take their own life: sometimes levitating, sometimes growing. The images also look like a symbolic representation of how science, play, experimentation and wonder come together to shape the cosmogony of the artist.
Laurent Millet’s pictures are on show at Paris Photo 2015, exhibited by La Galerie Particuliere.
