Another “vintage” post, this time from Casabella 327/’67, that will be appreciated, unfortunately, only by our Italian readers.
In 1967, right during the Universal Expo of Montreal, Reyner Banham published a funny commentary describing his experience as a simple visitor. Yet, as reported in the introduction, Banham’s easy going perspective hid a strong critique on the very necessity of an International Expo.
The original text appeared on the magazine “The New Society” of June, 1st 1967, titled “L’homme à l’Expo”
The second article follows the first one on the same number of Casabella and it is a interesting review of Moshe Safdie’s famous Habitat 67 (built for the same Expo in 1967) by Piero Sartogo.
