A Collection of Italian Board Games (Mostly 19th to 20th Century)

August 26, 2012 by Fosco Lucarelli 5 Comments

Kindly offered by the artist and architect Maurizio Cilli through his facebook account and mostly based upon the Game of the Goose.

This collection will form a section of the collective work of Grand Tour – Atlas, a “Travel in Italy in 2012, throughout a series of projects narrated by individuals working in new forms of architecture. An experiment for the Italian Pavillion of the 13th Biennale of Architecture in Venice.” More infos here.

Update:
It turns out that lots of the following images are originally hosted by this fantastic site: giochidelloca.it, a huge searchable collection of Goose games, classified by age, typology, country and so on, and curated by Dr.Luigi Ciompi and Prof. Adrian Seville.
The site is really worth a look.

    Gentile Lucarelli,
    Hi, Luigi!
Come stai? My Dutch friends told me about this. There ar some games that I have not seen before, with good images.

    Gentile signor Ciompi,

    Saluti dall’isola d’Elba!!
    Luigi
