Personal sorrow gave our dear friend Chiara Dattola the strength to produce her more intense drawings so far.

“I like scissors. Lately I’ve started an insane collection of these tools, I do not know how, I do not know why.
I like them disproportionately.
They’re an extension of my fingers. Sharp. More and more these days I wonder what to do with these offshoots of steel, how do I continue my journey and how can I do it …
I love scissors, probably because, like knives, they are white arms.
They are like katanas. Today I almost won a scar on my hand. Only almost. I do not know if they’ll give me that as a present…

I know it will come the time of withdrawal for me.
I do not know when or how but I know it will snow…”
