Daniel Stolle (1982) is a German illustrator living in Finland. Although he works on dark subjects (isolation, depression, the impact of modern technology on the individual) he does not renounce to some humor.
This series of four illustrations, employing a monochrome palette and grainy textures, was accompanying an article on DER SPIEGEL titled “The Prince of the Darknet“, about ” a 20 year old boy from Saxony, nickname “Shiny Flakes”, who ran for a short time a hugely successful internet mail order for hard drugs. The article takes also wider view on the topic of criminal activity in the darker corners of the web.” (Art direction by Antje Klein).
