Mehr Licht ! by Jochen Gerner (2010)

January 1, 2018 by Fosco Lucarelli 1 Comment

‘Mehr Licht!’ (More light!) cried writer and color theorist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe just before dying.

Mehr Licht ! is also the title of a series of works by French illustrator, comic artist, and artist tout court Jochen Gerner, a selection of illustrations of whom we have already featured on Socks.

The work, an investigation on lighting, consists of a series of graphic interventions on 16 old postcards of French coastal sites and water places, with the application of ink wash and China ink textures.
