Flat Manhattan (1883)

A moment in time when Manhattan was flat and had a strange likeness to Burri’s 1984-89 “Cretto di Gibellina” (photograph below).

The 1883 engraving by Captain Willard Glazier comes from his book “Peculiarities of American Cities“.
