Kate Shepherd is a visual artist who lives and works in New York City. In her paintings, prints and silkscreens, Robert Mangold minimalism and formalism are combined with a sense for perspective and geometry that is evidently in debt with the artist’s background as a former architecture student. As such, her works are always on the brink between figuration and abstraction.
Vibrant gradients of colors are superposed to lines to convey a sense of space and three-dimensionality through computer-manipulated patterns and architectural prototypes.
