Within Four Walls: Binnenskamers by Tim Enthoven

May 8, 2015 by Mariabruna Fabrizi Leave a Comment

“Binnenskamers” (Within four walls) is a graphic novel by  Dutch artist Tim Enthoven, published in 2011.

The book contains the detailed story of self-constraint as Tim, the protagonist, (the author himself), is confined within the four walls of his house and roaming between daily routines and his dreams and obsessions. The reader is invited to turn into a serial voyeur as he observes the dissected instants of Tim’s life through the transparent walls of the basic room.

The ascetic life is portrayed through a very simple and repetitive, yet never dull, black trait and the sequences of action are represented through a iteration of the same cubicle in each page, only with small variations in the projection.

With Binnenskamers the author graduated with honors from the Design Academy of Eindhoven.
